2020 GT500 Build – Time Attack

Announcing the First 2020 Shelby GT500 Racecar

BlueByYou Racing (BBY Racing) team of New Jersey is one of the very first customers to receive delivery of the new Ford 2020 Mustang Shelby®  GT500®

But, before the factory sticker has even come off, plans for the racecar conversion are already in place. The build will be managed by CorteX Racing, a U.S. based manufacturer and fabrication specialist in Mustang motorsports.

I have been using Cortex Racing suspension components for the past 5 years on our S197 Mustangs.

They have transformed our cars, been dependable in harsh race
conditions and gave us a unique edge over our competitors.

A Shelby GT500 Purpose Built for Time Attack

Maintaining their Ford Mustang roots and appealing to the market’s craving for the latest in top performance, BBY racing will build this 2020 Shelby GT500 to compete in the Street Mod Class of GridLife and Street Class of Global Time Attack.

With the new 2020 GT500, we are excited to develop and prove these components with Cortex Racing in this new platform.

2020 GT500 Racecar Mod Plan

This Shelby GT500 will be purpose-built for racing.

Upgrades to the suspension system, brakes and wheels are planned at the CorteX Racing Shop in Ohio.

This is a great opportunity to help the BBY team continue their success by developing parts for the 2020 GT500. We can’t wait to see this car on track!

100% Podium

In 2019, the BBY Racing team proved fierce competition driving two Mustang BOSS 302R race cars in time attack.

Drivers Eric Rockwell, Alex Rockwell and 2x Rolex winner Nelson Canache delivered many wins in the GridLife series and finished the season with 100% podium finishes.

About BBY Racing

BBY Racing is a father and son race team founded in 2015 by Eric Rockwell and Alex Rockwell. The team competes in road coarse events in both endurance and time attack formats including American Endurance (AER), ChampCar, Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), Gridlife, and Global Time Attack (GTA) race series.

The BBY racing team also build, maintain and race Honda S2000, Acura, Miata and BMW cars. In 2018 BBY Racing moved into a 3000 square foot facility and has since expanded to provide an arrive-and-drive program.
