CorteX - MCS 3W
CorteX has teamed up with MCS to create dampers optimized for us with our SLA and rear suspension systems.
The MCS 3W damper is a triple-adjustable damper with external reservoirs which allow for adjustment of the gas pressure in the damper. High speed compression, low speed compression, and rebound damping forces are independently adjustable with the compression adjusters located on the reservoir head and the rebound adjuster located on the shaft-end.
High Speed Compression damping forces are controlled by a large blow-off valve located directly on the reservoir main piston for the most precise and accurate damping control, and not a needle valve with a smaller effective adjustment range before the needle is too far out of the orifice to influence flow.
Adjustability
The MCS 3W damper is a triple-adjustable damper with an adjustment range of 18 clicks of high-speed compression, 10 clicks of low-speed compression, and 18 settings of rebound. Application-specific valving covers a wide range of spring rates and eliminates the need to constantly revalve every time you want to increase or decrease your spring rate. MCS has engineered its adjustment mechanisms so each click can be felt, but never feels like you’ve gone too far. 3W dampers are built standard with a linear piston and a digressive piston option is available.
18 Clicks of High Speed Compression Adjustment
High Speed Compression damping is easily manipulated on the 3W damper. With 18 clicks of high speed compression control, the user can easily introduce more platform to the vehicle by manipulating damping forces in high speed shaft movements (4 inches per second of velocity and beyond) to make better use of their mechanical contact patch, resulting in faster lap times.
10 Clicks of Low Speed Compression Adjustment
Low Speed Compression damping is easily manipulated on the 3W damper. With 10 clicks of low speed compression control, the user can easily manipulate the pitch and roll of the vehicle in low speed shaft movements (0-4 inches per second in velocity).
18 Clicks of Rebound Adjustment
With 18 clicks of rebound adjustment, the user can easily introduce more spring control or change the balance of the car.
Gas Pressure Adjustment
Schrader valves are fitted on the ends of the reservoirs. This introduces a valuable tuning tool – the ability to increase or decrease the nitrogen pressure in your damper, allowing you to increase or decrease the overall support to the vehicle. Reservoir pressure can be adjusted between 100 – 275 PSI to help support the platform in fast cornering that generates large loads or to allow more weight transfer to generate more traction in low grip scenarios.
